Hi!
We’re so glad you found us! My name is Kris and I’m happy to share with you a bit about our new embroidery site, www.SWAKembroidery.com! Michelle and I will be working together to make your experience at SWAKembroidery a great one!
In anticipation of the new site launching, we decided it was time to have some fun and post on our blog! We are putting the last minute touches on the site and it will be available to see VERY soon! In the meantime, we want to hear from you!
Come back to this blog each day and view more questions we’d like to ask you! You’ll also learn more about what you can expect to see at the new site! If you post, you have a chance to win gift certificates from both SWAKembroidery, as well as our sister site, www.YouCanMakeThis.com! So here’s the first question….

I am just learning to machine embroidery and haven’t done it much yet but I just love it. It gives the things I embroider such a personal touch. I love being able to monogram something before I give it as a gift and the recepients always love having their very own initials on their new gift!
I love how you can add so much pizzaz to an outfit. There is so many beautiful designs too. I would love to learn how to machine embroider, it looks fun.
I want to try machine embroidery because I want my items to have that extra ’something’ – like a SWAK really. You can write a letter and it can be special, but if you seal it with a kiss it makes it over the top special!!
I LOVE ALL THE DESIGNS THAT CAN BE EMBROIDERED, THAT IS WHY I WANT TO LEARN…AM CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A MACHINE.
SHARON
This is perfect timing. Tonight, I just unpacked my brand new Brother PE 700II embroidery machine that has been sitting in its box for almost a month on my kitchen table. I have not one clue on how to use it, but I am so, so ready to learn. I make little girl a-line dresses and I want to offer customers embroidering/monogramming and appliqueing options. I have dreamed of being able to embroider. I want to become an embroidering maniac!!! I can’t wait to learn! You ladies rock!
I don’t have one yet but I would love to get one. I see the designs look so professional and amazing. I have been drooling for quite some time. Can’t wait for the new site!
I’ve had a Viking Designer 1 for 4 yrs and love it to pieces!! I love being able to customize and personalize everything. I love it so much I just bought a BMP8. Today actually!!! I’m totally excited about that one and can’t wait to start using it!!! I’m completely excited about the new site! I can’t wait for it to launch so I can add to my collection!
I just love the “special” look that embroidery gives to little girls’ clothes… I’m looking forward to seeing the new site!
My mother has a machine and I love what she can do with it! Plan on getting some stuff from you to have her do for me on the items I sew for my girls. So fun! It adds that special “oomph” to a great project.
I love to machine embroider because it relieves stress for me.
I can be having the worst day and come sit at my machine and it just calms me and the world I’m in. I have a Designer 1 and it’s one of my best friends. I love making gifts and giving them.
I have done freehand machine embroidery for many years, but always wanted an embroidery machine so that repeat embroideries would all be the same(eg 4 corners of a tablecloth). Have just purchased a Janome 350E and am looking forward to “playing”. Thanks for your website.
Because it allows me to buy items whether they are household or clothing and give them a totally new look.
Being on a low income it allows me to spoil my grandchildren with individual looking clothing
I love hand embroidery but don’t know how to do machine embroidery and do not have a special machine for it, although I can always dream!
I don’t have one yet, but I am getting a settlement for my accident in about 2 months and then one of my first things on my to do list is to buy a new sewing machine and a new embroidery machine. Sooo, I can’t wait. I make cheerleading bows every year and even though my daughter’s coach loves the hand painted designs I do, I would love to personalize them with embroidery this year.
Can’t wait for the launch of the new site and learning a new hobby!!
A friend has a machine and I’d love to know how to upload to her machine. It takes a floppy disc so I know there is going to be some sort of an adaptor needed.
Other than that I love how you can personalize things with embroidery!
I am a newbie to embroidery, but love the freedom of design that comes with it. Quilts, embellishing plain fabrics, customizing ready to wear…………I already have a list of projects that will probably outlast my lifetime! Can’t wait to see what the new site has to offer.
I feel in deep when I got my embroidery machine. I love watching it stitch out the design. It is as if I am watching the design come to life! The most special part is I can make things for my girls that are unique and fit their indivdual personalities. it’s like each piece I make for them is SWAK from mommy.
It just adds that little “something personal” to an outfit. Even a simple cheap bought T-shirt suddenly becomes a unique article with a little embroidered “something” on it. I absolutely love In-Hoop Designs, and have created custom-made folders for my cheque book/ ID Book (passport) and cell phone. All in matching materials. Everyone that sees it, wants one!! I’ve also designed the most gorgeous In-the-Hoop handbag for girls to add to that special dress… Love YCMT, and can’t wait to see what the new site has in stall for us! Love the name, very appropriate.
I love the way you can personalize a design with machine embroidery, it gives home made items an extra quality. As I make a lot of doll and baby clothes and items, it means I can add my own pictures to them, giving them a more unique feeling.
I have a Brother PE-190D which I love using for the smaller embroidery designs and have just purchased the Brother Innovis 1500D, so will be able to do the bigger designs as well now.
Can’t wait for the site to open, it looks like it will be great.
I just bought an embroidery machine in February and am having a great time personalizing everything! Too bad my machine can’t keep up with all the ideas that float around in my head!
Dana
I love the look of machine embrodery(can’t spell it though) But dont have a machine that will do it. I want to make thing that my kids love that are unique. I love it when people ask were can I get one like that & I know they can’t.
I love machine embroidery for many reasons such as not being limited to what the markets dictate what’s in and what’s not, freedom of creativity.
But mostly I love machine embroidery because you can personalize your gifts. Seeing people’s faces light up when they’ve been given a gift that has been embroidered is like icing on a cake. You can’t get better than that!
I love machine embroidery for customizing gifts and making it personal for gift giving. With 5 kids and 7 grandkids I keep myself busy just with them. I make most of there birthday gifts and christmas items too.
I have a Babyloc Ellegao and plan on purchasing a commercial machine for my business. It takes an art to digitize and I have not ever learned- so I look for quality digitizers to do the job for me. Can’t wait to see the new site.
I love how a bit of embroidery changes a “homemade” outfit to a “custom-made” outfit. Even ready-to-wear items can be made unique in a very short time. I’m so excited about this new website. Thanks!
I love the look of embroidery. It really makes an outfit look extra special and one of a kind. I’m excited to see what this site will offer!
I am having lessons in patchwork and quilting and have a new Janome sewing machine. I would like to be able do embroidery with it but havent got a clue how to start.
I love to add machine embroidery to plain garments that I have sewn or machine knitted. It makes them look very professional.
My mom just gave me her older embroidery machine, when she upgraded hers. So, while I’m not a pro on it yet, I can’t wait to learn how to do it all. I just love that I can create unique outfits for my girls with machine embroidery!!!
I love the sense of accomplishment that I get when each design is completed. The ME learning curve is kind of steep (or at least for me it was!
), and knowing that I got the stabilizer figured out, the programs working to my advantage, and the finished designs looking great are all a testiment to my determination to create something wonderful and fun! After you “get it all together” your creative abilities are limitless!
I not only love embroidery, it is an addiction, as many people will probably tell you. To be able to make a “one of a kind” project that is truly unique is fantastic. It is the excitement of seeing not only the finished project, but the faces of the recipient that do it for me!
Wendy
I always thought I was really good at what I did, until I fell on the boutique world. I am always in total amazement of what some of the ladies can do with embroidery. I would feel like a complete artist if I could just learn to express myself in that way!LOL! I hope this site will change that for me! Thank you!
What’s not to love? unique, adorable, personalized, fun clothing, accessories and other items to wear, show and share!
When your child attends a birthday party, you don’t have to worry about bringing a “duplicate” gift.
I love machine embroidery because it allows me to “multitask”. I can embroider and sew at the same time…besides, it just ads a little something special!
I love the custom look machine embroidery can give an otherwise ordinary garment. It can make home sewing look like custom coture. I haven’t had a machine with embroidery capability yet. I’m currently saving up for one and can’t wait to give it a try someday.
I use my Janome 9000 for embroidery. It doesn’t have a huge hoop size, but it is perfect for monogramming the A-line jumpers and lined jon-jons that I make as gifts. The same outfits sale for $50+ in local stores! Plus, I’ve embroideried tote bags as birthday party favors, twill tape for sew-in name labels, and even grosgrain ribbon for hair bows. The monogramming and embroidery takes something from “home-made” to “boutique”!
Best Wishes with the new site! With machine embroidery, you are only limited by your imagination. There are so many designs to work alone or combine that the possibilities are endless. Just not enough hours in the day. Possibly, you could do a feature with this site to help people balance business with home life.
I love being able to embroider with my machine because it really allows me to take my outfit desgin to the next level.
I love appliques.
I love to add a whimsical touch to items, a design that will make people smile. A simple monogram can make an item I make bring joy to the recipient. I consider embroidery an art form…it’s so much more than just plunking a design on a piece of fabric.
Unfortunately, I have not done machine embroidery. I absolutely cannot wait until I can afford that machine. I love machine embroidery because of the diversity of patterns and the finished look they give to clothes. I look forward to spicing up some projects in the future!
Embroidery is an art form…there’s so much more to it than just plunking a design onto material. I love whimsical designs, designs that a pertinent in an individual’s life. I love to see the excitement and smile that appear when the recipient sees their personal creation.
I love being able to make my handmade items stand out from the rest. Machine embroidery gives me the ability to be creative and create one of a kind looks for my friends, my kids, and my customers. I don’t think I could function if I didn’t have my Brother 1500D. It’s a dream machine for me. I never thought I’d be able to own this nice of a machine.
Hi,
thanks SO much for creating this site! i love your “you can make this” sites, and am thrilled to have this new one specific to my “addiction”!
I’ve been doing machine embroidery for about 6 years now and am truly addicted! i have a very basic machine, a White 3300, which only has a 4×4″ sewing field, but it’s been a real work-horse for me. and believe me, i’ve really put it to the test! i embroider everything! i purchased Generations digitizing when i got my machine, and it’s opened up a whole new world to me. So, in addition to purchasing wonderful designs, I’m able to make my gifts much more personal by digitizing a design or a name that is unique to the receiver. I started out with embroidering purchased designs onto purchased clothing, but now make quilts, baby blankets, and purses with embroidered designs. I LOVE MACHINE EMBROIDERY….my true passion!
Where do I start!!! I bought a small brother machine about 3 years ago…I wanted to decorate some of my daughter’s clothes. I loved it so much, I have continued to expand my machines. I now have 3 embroidery machines including a brand new 6 needle machine – so much fun…..
I love to decorate clothing, towels, etc. It just adds such a special touch to everything you make. It can take something fairly simple and ordinary and turn it into something out of this world. I am so excited about this new site. I am addicted to machine embroidery designs….
I love to monogram stuff….from koozies, to onesies and bibs…OMG…how cute is that stuff??? I have a collection of designs…and alphabets…..and thread, and lots and lots of stuff to play around with.
I love machine embroidery because I like to make unique things for my girls!! I have had my machine for almost a year and have been sewing and stitching up a storm. I love to have things personalized and it makes it easier to know what belongs to whom!
My life and my work changed the day I received my Simplicity Embroidery Machine ! SOOOOO much faster and prettier than the hoop/thimble/pricked fingers method that I learned as a girl! I couldn’t afford the big bad-boy machine at the time of my purchase, but will up-grade as soon as I possibly can – when I embroider on appropriate subject apparel, they just POP! And thanks for this great new site!
I love to machine embroider because it allows me a creativity outlet that I’ve never had before. I could never quite get the hand embroidery stitches and quite frankly didn’t have the patience to sit there and do it. The machine does such beautiful work. I love it when I give gifts that I’ve machine embroidered on and everyone says, Ooooohhhh did you do that!!!!! I, too, am looking forward to the new site.
I love to be able to personalize and customize different items for my children and customers! Embroidery allows me to be creative! Can’t wait for the new site to open!!
I would love to learn! I have boughten a few embroidered items & love them. They have so much personality. I also think it would be fun to get the kids involved & let them pick out designs to add to the things I make for them. My daughter loves to pick out fabric already & I am hoping that by letting her help she has a passion for crafting too. I have been doing many different crafts & projects since I was just a couple years old and she is showing interest at 2 1/2, which makes me so happy. I make alot of items as gifts too & an embroidery machine would add just the right touch to those very special items.
I so want to learn to machine embroider and have for quite some time now. It looks like so much fun and being able to add some “ooh la la” to a creation makes it unique! I can’t wait to purchase a machine!!
I recently received a machine as a gift that has embroidery, but I don’t know how to use this part yet. I love how I will be able to personalize clothing and gifts. I am so excited about this site as I just love YCMT! I can’t wait:))
I have 3 daughters and LUV to see their names embroidered on everything and I love being able to take any plain ol’ thing and making it FABULOUS!!! So many designs, so little time!!!Hopefully soon get machine #2.
I am brand new to machine embroidery and having the time of my life! I have made some designs that are so stinkin’ cute!!
I am new to machine embroidery, but I am already the most popular girl on my block! Friends, relatives, and neighbors ask me all the time to monogram or embroidery something to make a gift more personal and special. I love being able to do it for them and knowing the person receiving the gift will love it.
I LOVE machine embroidery because it allows me to take something ordinary and make it extraordinary!
i love my machine since i can personalize just about anything! having my name spelled different, growing up i never could find stuff with my name on it. now i can put it on ANYTHING!!!
wende
I don’t yet have a machine, but it’s absolutely tops on my wish list….in fact last July (my birthday) I told my family to NOT buy me any gifts…for my birthday, for Christmas and I’ll be telling them the same thing for upcoming Mother’s Day. Instead we put the money they would have spent into a savings account….and as soon as there is enough money in there, I’m going shopping for a machine!
So why do I want a machine that badly, to forego gifts for probably 2 years? Because I have two absolutely adorable girls who LOVE the clothes I sew for them….but I want to make them even more special. The 25+ year old Pfaff that I use to sew is still in great shape, but all the “fancy” that it does is two styles of alphabet (cursive and regular), and those are sizeable to less than 1/2″. It also does a few vines and flowers, but again 1/2″ is the widest. I use these to put special words onto the hems of their outfits quite often, but it’s just not enough anymore.
I want to be able to embroider large fancy, detailed designs on their clothes. I want to make a bold statement with their clothing. Dare I say it….I want people to talk about their clothes! (Ok, and my creativity). Is that so bad?
Ok, you didn’t ask for suggestions….but I have one for you….once I have the cash to buy a machine, I’m going to need a lot of help in wading through all the choices. It would be very very cool if this website could be a repository of all the opinions and expertise of it’s members…..how about a section devoted to describing the different choices in machines available and after some unbiased review of each machine’s abilities, some very biased reviews by users of why they love their particular machine….or why they wish they’d bought something else…or what they both love and hate about their machine. Who knows…maybe machine manufacturers everywhere will sit up and take notice of the reviews and ideas for improving their next machine that is provided by SWAK! Would that be cool or what?
I am looking forward to lurking around this site and building up a HUGE wish list for my “someday”. You WILL have a wishlist feature won’t you? Pretty please? With red embordiered cherries on top?
I love adding that extra-special touch to items for my two granddaughters even though I have limited machine embroidery experience. Can’t wait to check out your new site.
I am so excited for this new site. I haven’t ventured into the world of emboridery just yet, but I hope to soon!
Congradulations! I totaly love the other site, I check it daily. Just to see what new. I don’t have an embordery machine but do love the custom look of things.
I know this is a skill I’m going to need, with to kids envoled in many things.
Plus the just soooooo cute to ware clothing!!!
I look foward to adding this to My Morning rutiune.
I sew and smock too, but I love how I can quickly create something special for my kids with my embroidery machine. I don’t have to invest days or weeks in a project, but can spend an hour or two embellishing a T shirt and have a one-of-a-kind outfit for a special occasion or just for fun. This is important since I work full time and don’t every seem to have enough time to sew. My kids wouldn’t have nearly so many ‘mommy mades’ without my embroidery machine.
I have a embroidery machine and it comes in handy as my daughter goes to private school. She has to wear uniforms but peices like sweaters, hats, backpacks need to have their names on it. I embroidered all of her things. Shes the only girl in the class than can spot her stuff from across the room, and she hasnt lost an item yet.
I do not currently machine embroider but I want to SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I see all the beautiful designs and I KNOW I could do it if I only had the proper machine. I am terrible at looking at stuff in the stores and seeing how expensive it is and saying to myself “I could make that!”
One of these days I will get an embroidery machine and I want to have all the knowledge and designs saved on my computer for that time.
I love the YCMT and YCST sites so I am POSITIVE I will LOOOOOVE this site too!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been dreaming about a machine for years. I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford one, but I’ll keep dreaming. My sister has one and doesn’t have a clue how to use it. Maybe this newsletter will help her out. I love the look of machine embroidery. I would have that thing humming along as much as possible if I had one. I’ll watch longingly at all the great stuff everyone makes!!!!! Good luck with the site. I’m sure it will be a hit!!!!
I have wanted to machine embroider for years but a machine is still on my wish list. I love the look of embroidery. I love to hand embroider for fun but the look of machine embroidery is much smoother and, of course, faster! I think machine embroidered designs make plain, generic items look personal and sophisticated.
I just upgraded to a 6 needle machine about 7 months ago. I just love embroidering it adds a special touch, and a more personal touch to your outfits. I have 6 grandsons soon to be 8 and 1 granddaughter, so it makes it that I can make them all something special. Sometimes make a little bit of money doing things for others!
I love personalizing my childrens and friend’s children’s items…it gives that extra something a gift needs!
I love embroidery not only because I can personalize everything for my girls’, but it can turn a simple outfit into something unique and fantastic! I just started embroidering after christmas, but I was instantly addicted! I LOVE embroidery!
I have alot of grandkids and would love to add that special touch to the things I make for them. I have not done alot of machine embroidery yet, so I am more at the learning end of the spectrum.–Bonnie
My mom and I already machine embroider, the stuff you can do on clothes and so much more is great. It is so fun to personalize!!! Can’t wait to see what you have in store!
I have been wanting to purchase an embroidery machine but don’t know which one I would like some help with that. I want to use it to finish outfits I do for my granddaughters.
I have a little girl that I love the make clothes for. I would love to learn how to do embroidery on some of her clothing to add that “Special Touch!” I am also a beginner with sewing and LOVING IT!!
I don’t have an embroidery machine yet but am saving up to get one. I love the custom look you can give even the most simple of outfits and accessories with embroidery. Can’t wait to get my own machine and start using some of your cute stuff!!
Machine Embroidery makes gifts extra special and unique, that’s why I love it!
I don’t have an embroidery machine, but I so wish I did. I love the details you can add to a set. And being able to design the perfect t-shirt to to match a twirl skirt too cute!
Love to embroider for myself and especially our grandkids. I have been sewing for years and decided to add an embroidery machine a few years ago to embelish my projects. Since then, I have added another machine (200E) and at times, both machines are running at the same time
I do not currently machine embroider or embroider at all for that matter. Id Love to Learn because it just ads such a cute personal touch to things that can some times be rather boring. Ive attempted to machine embroider with my sewing machine But as you can imagine it didn’t turn out to well … lol But this is some thing id really love to learn how to do. Now for a question because i know nothing about embroidery, do you have to have a special machine (embroidery machine) to embroider or is it actually possible on a sewing machine?
I would love to have a machine first of all, and when I get one, I want to be able to personalize items and add a cute design to certain projects.
I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THAT THE SITE HAS BEEN REVEALED!!! I have been dying to see what was coming … what to go girlies!!!
I love my PR 600II …. it is awesome and I love to be able to take something plain and turn it into something with a little BAM! My daughter loves it to and she loves to help me come up with gifts for her friends when they have a birthday. It’s amazing what her little mind comes up with at the age of 6.
I can’t wait to see what else you ladies come up with. Thank you for all your hard work and long hours you have put into this. It will be amazing just like YCMT.com.
I am a new member in the world of Embroidery. I went straight for the big guns… Brother 600II. I am still learning, but so far I love it. I am really excited about the opportunities ahead and can’t wait to get my business up and running. I already adore YCMT so its only natural that this will be a perfect fit as well. I look forward to the new “sister site” and can’t wait to learn more about embroidery. Thanks for the new website!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a babylock bmp6. I make childrens clothing to sell, and I love how the machine embroidery gives my clothes that extra touch. It is always fun to hear the customers ooh! and aah! over the little details.
I don’t have a machine to embroider with (yet!), but I would love to learn because I love that professional finishing touch it gives a project. It makes it look like you really bought the item from a high end boutique. I also love how you canmatch the fabrics with threads and that’s it!
I love embroidery because it opens so many new avenues t in decorating clothes. It is also a place that I can forget about all my daily situations. ( we care for my FIL who is terminally ill) I also love to quilt and embroidery opens up the possiblity to new ideals for them. It is a wonderful hobby.
I just got my free designs. Thanks, they are great!
I have been sewing for YEARS, than I invested in an embroidery/sewing machine about 5 years ago. OHHH the fun I have had and hope to have. I have grandsons only, I have to get very creative to make them things that they like and approve of. So far, they love everything I make for them. This purchase also led to a job in the store I bought my machine from, I started teaching sewing classes and now also work part time in the retail part. I am looking forward to SWAK. Deb
I’m so excited about this site. Thanks for putting it together. I’m not very creative so machine embroidery allows me to put that little “extra” creative touch to my sewing projects.
For me, my time at the embroidery machine is truly my time. It’s prozac effect keeps me sane and gives me the perfect outlet for my creative thoughts (I have an over active creative side). With out this time the pressure in my brain would cause tention that is sure to be felt by my dear husband. (OK last part was added as practice for when I tell DH the cost of a new machine LOL) It’s a perfect balance of taking time for myself while giving so much care and love the many reciepents of my creations.
I love machine embroidery! I think I’ve tried to put a monogram on everything at one point or another! I’ve had my Brother machine for about 5 years now. It’s well loved and very used. I’m super excited about the new site! Bring on the cuteness!!!! Oh, and how about a how to e-book about machine appliqué…for some reason that completely escapes me!!
when I can find an affordable machine then I’ll start!!!
I am currently looking for my first embroidery machine and I am looking forward to learning how to machine embroider. I love dressing my daughter in “one of a kind” outfits and think that it would certainly add more flair to the items I make. Can’t wait to see the new site!
My life and my work changed the day I received my Simplicity Embroidery Machine! It is so much faster and prettier than the hoop/thimble/pricked fingers method that I learned as a girl! I couldn’t afford the big bad-boy machine at the time of my purchase, but will up-grade as soon as I possibly can – when I embroider on appropriate subject apparel, they just POP! And thanks for this great new site! My machine will only use the PES card so willl appreciate any info that will lead me to a resource for the cards.
I have been doing machine embroidery for years and just love it. It is a very easy way to make something personalized for yourself, your family or your friends. And who doesn’t love something personalized. I love machine embroidery so much I started my own business using it!
I love machine embroidery for two reasons. I smock and do heirloom sewing and machine embroidery gives my projects a little extra “pizazz”. The second reason is that I’m going to be a first-time grandma this September and there are so many cute things that I can do with machine embroidery for our new grandchild.
I don’t yet machine embroider, but it would be so exciting to learn. I would love to be able to do it because it adds such a personal touch to any outfit. All the machine embroidery designs on YCMT are too stinkin cute. I drool over them all the time. I would love to be able to incorporate them on the clothes I make my daughter to add alot of extra pizzazz.
I just got an embroidery machine last fall & have been learning all the things that I can do w/ it!
I love to embroider b/c I think it adds that extra touch to the items I create. Plus the best thing of all is that you may have some sort of theme in mind but can’t really find that perfect fabric & being able to embroider it may make all the difference!
I love it & am excited to see what you guys are planning & coming up w/.
Thanks for sharing!
I love to make personalized gifts for people, especially babies – adorable burp cloths. I love to make t-shirts with cool sayings, and machine embroidery just adds that special something to anything I sew to make it unique & memorable. It is definitely an addictive hobby!
I love machine embroidery because it gives my projects an extra punch of excitement. It has allowed me to save tons of money on embroidery costs on shirts, etc. for clubs I’ve belonged to and has given me the opportunity to personalize lovely gifts for coworkers, friends, family and just recently, my daughter’s preschool class. Everyone’s first words are always “WOW”. But the best thing—you make people smile with these great items and it really isn’t that hard!
I am sooooo excited to see what this site will be like. Congrats Ladies! You guys inspire me to follow my dreams of designing!
Sherri
I do not YET have a machine but would love to get one. The projects turn out so neat from clothing to quilting to bags to…there is no end when you can embroider. I do it by hand but it never looks as ‘neat’. I love looking at what others have made and keep wishing on that ‘first bright star at night!!’
I absolutely LOVE to machine embroider. It give my outfits the perfect finished and “store” bought look. Plus I can put what I want on an outfit where I want it. Not to mention the fact having the embroidery machine gives me plenty more reasons to make a trip to the sewing shop,
oh I wish i had an embroidery machine!!!! You can personalize all these things for gifts or add your own little special touch!
That is on my list of things to get
Maybe I’ll ask santa for one next Christmas!
Machine embroidery adds the extra professional touch that I love in my designs. I love the fact that it is fairly easy, yet gives a design the look that hours and lots of effort were spent achieving the perfect look.
I bought my first embroidery machine last October and I absolutely love it! I love being able to personalize things for my children and family and I also enjoy making things to sell. I can custom design items for customers and they love it!
I have a Brother ULT2002D machine and absolutely love it! I have been embroidering for the last 5 years and look forward to sharing and learning tips with everyone. Once you start embroidering it becomes an additction. I think that I have embroidered every single towel, pillowcase and shirt that I have in my house! LOL!
I bought a Janome 300E several years ago and I would not be without an embroidery machine now. It is so much fun to make special outfits for my two daughters with minimal effort. They are always dreaming up things that they would like for me to embroider for them, and I hope that they will love sewing one day as much as I do. It is also great to be able to take something very plain (and generally inexpensive b/c there is no decoration) and turn it in to a great gift to give that looks like a million bucks!
I started machine embroidery to be able to monogram, but now I do lots more! I love being able to personalize gifts and things for my family! Even my bachelor brother loves his VT towels!
I don’t currently fo any machine embroidery but would love to start – it would be the finishing touch that I am looking for my creations. I cannot wait for the swak site to be up and running so that I can get up and running do some machine embroidery. How exciting!!!
My sister-in-law has had an embroidery machine for years and recently purchased a really expensive commercial machine. (She sells at craft shows, does small commercial orders and custom orders from her home part time.) I would love to learn how to use one to enhance my girls’ clothes and be able to embroider my husband’s company shirts. I like to make things that are unique and not run of the mill. Embroidery would help make that happen!
I love to machine embroider because it gives any project that extra special touch. You can turn an ordinary gift that someone would like into something they would love. The dresses that I make for my little niece look really special when I add a monogram or a design. Another thing I like about machine embroidery is that it is so easy to do.
I’ve been embroidering for a few years. I love being able to personalize items you buy. So your things don’t look like everyone else’s. It adds that WOW! factor to simple clothes. And boy are nonsewers impressed.
I’ve had my machine for over a year now–still learning all about it actually but I love to embroider my hair bows! It gives them such a great special touch and my customers love my embroidered initial and monogrammed hair bows! I also like to use my machine to make extra special personalized gifts for family and friends!
I just bought a machine and I really want to learn how to do embroidery and eventually digitizing!!!
So- how about a Machine Embroidery 101…
(OK- really I have had my machine a few months and I am more than a bit intimidated to get started!)
It is so much fun. I love taking something plain and turning it into something great.
I have seen so many cute embroidery designs on YCMT that I have just been dying to get an emboidery machine and to learn. I have a feeling that the designs you will be offering on SWAK are just absolutely going to make me drool all over my keyboard!
My mother-in-law has one & I LOVE what she can do with it! She lives too far away for me to borrow it…LOL. I am saving up so I get one soon for myself and can’t wait to add those unique touches to everything
An embroidery machine is on my wish list! I love that you can add such a special, personalized touch to garments and accessories with embroidery.
This site/blog is a wonderful addition to YCMT!
Karen G.
I just started machine embroidery. I am ADDICTED!!!! I love that I can give my boys some great “boutique” clothes since there isn’t much out there in the stores.
I also love to be able to give unique custom gifts to people.
BTW_I am so happy about this site!
It would add so much diversity to the clothing creations I am already making, and it’s so hot right now…who wouldn’t want to learn! I LOVE to sew, so learning to embroidery would be a huge added bonus! Can’t wait to see what you have instore for us all!
Camie
I am just learning to do embroidery. I just purchased my new sewing machine that does embroidery a few months ago and I LOVE it! I can’t wait to learn more! I love being able to put cute little designs on my children’s clothes and other projects. I have been playing a lot with decorative trims on baby clothes right now. I can’t wait to learn to do more embroidery. I have two more owner’s classes this coming month on how to use my embroidery unit so hopefully that will help me go a little further. I can’t wait for this site to open. It sounds like it will be a great help for embroidery!
I love it because I can’t ever find my DD’s name on ANYTHING!!
So with it I can make her clothes for HER and she loves seeing her name on her things !!
Why do I love machine embroidery? I can make boutique clothing for my 3 little girls (2, 3, & 6) at a fraction of the cost. It even has sparked a few orders from friends, because my little models are the best advertising!
I love to embroider and it’s part of my business. I make diaper bags and totes and other things and monogram pretty much every piece I make. People just love personalized things. It really adds to what you made.
I love embroidery for all the wonderful things I can embellish and sew for my 5 beautiful grandchildren. Sewing and embroidery are very fulfilling to me. So much so, that I now want a bigger and faster machine. Something like a Brother PR600 series or a Happy Voyager. I am looking so forward to this website.
I love to embroider because I have 2 little girls… Should I go on? It is so exciting to hear them asking for a dress with this fabric and a top with this fabric – oh and can you embroider a mermaid and my name on this top??? When I was little, my mom sewed for me and I loved it. It is great that I can carry on this tradition AND add that extra personal touch of machine embroidery!!
Jill
I currently don’t have an embroidery machine but boy do I want one! I would love to add special touches to the outfits I make for my daughter. I’m just now branching out into making clothes for others. Embroidery would be a neat option to offer!
I’m so excited about the new site! Anything to do with sewing and I’m there!
With machine embroidery you can easily and quickly customize garments, accessories, and just about anything to make it your own. It takes projects to the next level.
I love it because it lets me customize my garments for people without paying ridiculously high prices and I can start the embroidery whil I”m working on things on my computer.
I love how things can be “dressed up” plain t-shirts can look like department store shirts. The list is endless.
I bought my first embroidery machine Brother 150 about 8 years ago and it has been a work horse.
A few months ago i bought a used Brother machine a ULT 2003D with larger hoops. I just love it.
Thank you for the beautiful freebies for signing up!
A friend of mine gave me her machine due to not having the time to use it. I was so thankful and boy did I fall in love with Machine Embroidery. I am on a very limited income so I would never have been able to afford one. Now I am working on starting a small home business so I can make some extra money to help my husband & family. I love to personalize and also add cute designs to my baby items I do. And everything can coordinate. The best thing is to see my grand kids wearing cute things Ive made.
Thanks I really look forward to this new site. I love YCMT I am sure you will all do great too.
I am just beginning to sew but I have already found myself wishing that I could embroider on a couple of my projects. They just seem to need that “finishing touch”. I need another obsession like I need a hole in the head, haha! But never the less it’s on my list!
I love embroidery, whether by hand or machine. I feel like an artist when I do this. I love seeing the end result of machine embroidery like I do cross-stitching. I’ve seen so much genius in some of the designs on some of my favorite websites from others that it inspires me. I love to buy or download new designs but am so busy that I don’t get to use them all. I do have ideas floating in my head that I hope to get to eventually. I love the look in my granddaughters’ eyes when I do something for them. I had an old New Home embroidery machine and liked it until I saw what all of the new machines could do and finally upgraded recently to a Brother Innovis 1500D and LOVE it. I can do so much more on it. I’m looking forward to this newsletter to learn more.
I have 2 embroidery machines, the Brother ULT 2001 and a Pacesetter by Brother. I absolutely love my embroidery machines. I love making personalized baby items that are truely OOAK. They also help bring in some extra income.

I am an Emergency Room nurse and the mother of 3 year old twins. My embroidery machine is my salvation to relieve my stress. I don’t know what I did before I bought my embroidery machine. I am looking forward to the new site. YCMT is awesome so I’m sure SWAK will be too!
I love that I can press a button and walk away. Come back later when I have time, change the thread and press the button again. It is so convenient! I would love a good lesson on stabilizers and what works best with what as well as a FAQ guide. That would be awesome! Thanks so much!
I love the look of machine embroidery and all the cute things you can do with it! The possibilities are endless! That makes it so much fun! I am looking for a good machine right now! A section about machines and reviews would be awesome!
Wahoooo! SWAK is here!
Well, I love machine embroidery because it allows me to add just the right touch to any outfit, and it looks so professional! It’s like magic–you hoop up the fabric, push a few buttons, and the machine paints a little picture for you right on a shirt or jeans or…anything! And, the designs that are out there range from formal and fabulous to cute and funny….there are sayings, animals, babies, flourishes, flowers….you name it, it’s there!
Congratulations, my friends, for the launch of the site. I cannot WAIT to see the designs!
Lorie
YCMT Team
My mom got me started on machine embroidery and I have to admit I’m addicted! I absolutely love all the things you can do! I love the appliques the best! They are so easy to do and look so nice when you are finished!
I’ve never tried it . . . but I belong to a group that cross stitches child-friendly patterns and finishes them into quilts and cushions to donate to hospitals for preemie babies and very sick kids:
http://www.aqphome.org
And I’m jealous of how fast the Machine Embroiders can turn out a finished panel for donation. I love doing cross-stitch, but it takes forever because I’ve got two small kids and I’m learning to sew this year (much faster results). I’d love to know more about ME so that someday, when the stars and banks line up right I can decide if it’s something I’d like to personally persue. Thanks for giving me a trusted place where I can learn more.
I have a Babylock Ellageo – which does sewing as well as embroidery – and it’s the best toy my husband ever bought me. If you love creating you will love machine embroidery. It even gave me the confidence to attempt regular sewing and now I’m fearless! My DGDs always say “Mimi can make anything” and I LOVE to hear them say it! Can’t wait to see your new site. I know it will be FAB – U – LUS, just like YCMT!!
I love machine embroidery!!! I am still a novice…so every project is a learning experience. My family and friends appreciate the time and beauty of what is produced and they always feel special that the end product is personalized in some way for them.
I am excited about the SWAK website and look forward to purchasing new designs as well as exploring and sharing tips and tricks about this fun hobby!!
Jodie
I bought my embroidery machine to make outfits for my dogs. I loved that I could personalize them. In the year that I have had my machine I have enjoyed every minute of it and often find that there is so little time to do housework, lol.
I have started sewing other items now and have even made clothing for my dgd. I haven’t sewn people clothes for years. I found that I am actually pretty good at it, lol.
I just bought my first embroidery machine this month! I LOVE IT!!!! It gives that perfect touch to any outfit that I make for my girls. I have tried to hand embroider and just couldnt make it look neat! Guess I didnt have the patience for it so with a machine everything comes out perfect! It has opened up a new world of creativity for me. I am embellishing everything from pillowcases to book bags and towels in my house! Plus its great for the kids to choose what they want embroidered and choose the design on it. Even my husband has embroidered his own shirts! Its definately a craft that can involve the whole family. I dont know what I did without it!
Well I do not have an embroidery machine. Always dreaming of the day I will get to have that purchase…But I love love love to see all the fun everyone has with it. And as always I think this site will be a breath of fresh air from all the other embroidery sites out there…given what I have seen on YMCT…
Even though mostly is directed to kids…We are all young as heart and I love it…Maybe you could but some of that touch in more of the adult fashion….I would defiantly wear the myself some of the things you have done on YMCT.
Can’t wait to see more
I am currently looking for a machine, but have a lady at church that does some embroidery for me… for my clients. I would love to be able to do this for myself… I love the idea of being able to personalize quilts, t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, hats… you name it… I think people (especially children) absolutely LOVE to see their name on things…. Two of my children are small girls who get all giddy when they see their names or even the letter that starts their names….. I would like to be able to do something that would make them smile every time they see “Their” item.
Sewing is my passion…LOVE IT! BUT…I just purchased a new Brother embroidery machine and am anxiously awaiting its arrival…and I KNOW I’ll need some help!
This is PERFECT timing for me! Thanks! Darlin
I love machine embroidery because it is a great way to dress up clothing. You can take a simple tee and change it into something so wonderful. It also adds such a personal touch to gifts.
Machine embroidery gives me endless possibilities for gift giving. Whether I applique a custom made children’s outfit, embellish towels for a graduation or wedding gift, or customize a tote bag, it’s so easy and inexpensive to give the perfect gift.
Because I loooooove the smiles, hugs, and kisses of my darling children, and grandchildren when they see their personal treasures!!!!
I love machine embroidery because there are so many designs available on the market (and for free) to personalize items or gifts for your family or friends. The recipient can’t help but know they were being thought of throughout the entire process of making and/or embroidering of their item or gift.
I just love ro embellish. Embroidery is so much fun. It gives the kids clothes or other items their own personality.
I LOVVVVVE sewing!! It is truly my passion!! I don’t own a embrodery machine yet, so I do all of my little personal touches using aplique & satin stitching. Love it Love it Love it!! Gives everything such a special look. I SOOOO want to learn to machine embroider. There are so many different design options available & the result is so professional.
I love to embellish!! Use a lot of applique but my dream for years is to own a machine that embroiders. I used to hand embroider before the “joints” retired . LOL Look forward to the new site. Know it will be a huge success. God Bless!
I would LOVE to learn to embroider! It would be great to add just that extra something to all the things I sew. It would be like the icing on the cake, or better yet, the project would be Sealed With A Kiss!
I love machine embroidery because I’m no good at applique on my sewing machine! I can’t figure out the satin stitch and it never looks right!! I esp. love machine applique, it stitches out so PERFECT!! I like to watch it stitch out (and my kids love it too!) but I also like that I can sew on my regular machine and have something stitch out on my embroidery machine at the same time. I love that you can personalize just about anything. I was lucky enough to buy my machine used at a total steal, because I was so afraid to spend the $$$ on a new one and find that I didn’t like it or didn’t use it that much. Now that I know I LOVE it and USE it (quite often!) I’m saving up for a machine with a larger hoop, mine is only 4×4 but wow, you can still do so so so much. I can’t wait for the site to be up, it’s already bookmarked
I have friends who have embroidery machines and admire the designs they make. I am thinking of getting an embroidery machine and the information available on this site will hopefully help me make a decision.
I love to watch the designs stitch out! They are SO precise and when it is done it looks so professional!! I have the Janome 350E and love how easy it is to use! Just change the threads and watch something beautiful appear!!!
I have embroidered for years. The machine embroidery is so much faster and there are so many designs available. I don’t have a machine yet, but hope not too long in the future. Like your site. You are doing a great job.
I love to embroider! I got my machine this past Christmas and have used it so much. I love to make gifts with it and esp. things for my daughter. I just love the way everything turns out. I like being able to add a touch of myself to each design. It makes everything so personal. Can’t wait for the site. I’m so excited!
I love machine embroidery because it can be as quick as you make it! By choosing a simple design, you can turn a store bought outfit into something unique, personal and special in very little time. It’s also amazing for embellishing outfits that I sew for my little ones to turn it into something truly amazing!
Hi !
My name is Petra and I live in Germany. I sew and stitch ( also by hand) since near 20 years now.
Als a child I always wanted to be able to draw like my best friend. I tried and tried, but I had no talent.
Now, with my embroiderymachine, my dreams came true… I am able to play with all colors, to express emotions, to follow trends, to create one-of-a-kind-dreams for all my loved ones – just in minutes with my Viking SE !
I draw with yarn, needle and the start-button
Now my world has so many colors – I love it !
Winke winke from Germany, Petra
Although I do not have an embroidery machine, I wish I did. After seeing the beautiful work that others do with embroidery machines, I think it adds much to each garment to distinguish it. I need to win the lottery so I can buy my first machine.
I love machine embroidery because it adds a personal touch to my products. Whether I am making something for my son, daughter or a gift for a loved one, I can add the personal touch. I love the “You can make this too” site so I konw I will love this one too. Thanks ladies!
I love machine embroidery I have been doing it for about 5 years now and have 2 machines. It is my creative outlet! I can take a design change the colors and fabrics if it is applique just like an artists palet.
Sherry
I would love to add a little something extra to plain clothes pieces!
Machine embroidery allows me to create wonderfull items for my family and friends. Recently upgraded to a 4 needle machine and I love it. Look forward to this great site.
I like the “ooooh” and “ahhh” factors you get when you give a gift that has been embroidered. Also the compliments on my daughter’s outfits and hair accessories that have been embroidered. Still learning how to make my machine do exactly what I want, but I’m getting there.
Add me to the “want to learn” crowd. I don’t have a machine with a hoop, yet.
I do hope to add one to my sewing weapon arsenal sometime soon. However, I will definitely be checking out the site, I am a sewing junkie and love all the details you can add.
I love the fact that you can make things that no one else has. I’ve also ventured into the craft fair life and did exceptionally well with items to sell before Christmas. I’ve also sold a few things since then.
You can’t beat the money you can save on gifts either. Just a couple of hand towels on sale, a monogram or a design and you’ve got a wonderful gift.
I am always looking to learn to crafts. I am a quilter at heart but I also love making unique clothing for my 4 year old daughter and machine embroidery would be the icing on the cake.
I want to learn machine embroidery because I just think it makes items a lot more special. They give it that extra pizzaz.
I love machine embroidery because I can design my own unique designs. I am able to make my granddaughters outfits that fit their lifestyles and interests. I also love doing original baby shower gifts.
I would love to be able to do machine embroidery. My parents have a small embroidery business and an industrial machine, however they do not live close so it’s hard to get them to do the work for me. I love for my little girl to have her things monogrammed, and I do a lot of applique, so embroidery is right up my alley. It would be so great to add unique and personal touches to the clothing I make my kids and the gifts I give. I sooo want my own embroidery machine! Now if I could just talk my husband into it…
My kids LOVE it when they can design their own shirts, bags, etc. and esp when they can “design” things for their friends and teachers for gifts. I love machine embroidery because it allows me to let my creative juices flow and because I can create with my kids! Can’t wait to check out your new designs!
Sewing for my grandkids is my current passion. It’s fun to create one-of-a-kind “ensembles” for them- the tops and coordinated capris and skirts, etc. with themed fabric and embroidery. Last minute gift giving is a breeze with machine embroidery items and much appreciated, too, for the personal touch it shows. Hope to make a quilt for each of the girls with fabric from past outfits and some sort of machine embroidery.
I just recently bought an embroidery machine and couldn’t love it more! I look at embroidery as a form of art. You choose the design and the colors and can put it on just about anything. The end result is not only beautiful and unique but can last forever! I cannot tell you how excited I am for your SWAK site to be up and running. YCMT is my favorite site and with my love of embroidery it will be a perfect match! Thanks
Brooke Granger
I absolutely LOVE to machine embroidery. It is so much fun to sit there and watch my machine very quickly turning something nice or cute into something WOW. I also love to give people one of a kind gifts that are almost always oh-so- easy to do such as taking a plain white pillowcase or a Wal-Mart 3.00 denim carry bag and personalizing it with a name and some design or applique that represents that child or person’s personality, hobby or sport.
With my embroidery machine I can take something inexpensive and turn it in to something that will delight or even be cherished. It is so enjoyable to be able to do for others in this way.
I would love to learn how to machine embroider because of the endless new design and embellishment possibilities that allow you to personalize your creations!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my embroidery machine that I got last month, because of in-the-hoop projects. With a 2 month old and a 2 year old I have next to no time to sit at my sewing machines and finishs projects BUT I can finish in the hoop projects while playing with my kids and occasionally changing thread. I love the sense of accomplishment I get with the cute projects I make. When my daughter sees my machine running she says it’s making presents for her, and it usually is
.
I have done a bit on my Bernina 440ee but am really just a beginner. I want to do more and to learn new techniques. I love to watch the machine do the stitching. I love the way machine embroidery adds that special touch to my projects.
I LOVE the creative process of machine embroidery– choosing the perfect designs for the right garment or item, the color options, the personalization options… It’s just a blast!
Now I do items for other moms online, and the joy that they have when they get their personalized items is just thrilling!!
Plus…. how much fun is it to take a $3 clearance tee and make it amazing??
I would love to learn how to machine embroidery because I love to make unique outfits for my daughter to wear.
I have an embroidery machine and have been a bit nervous about starting…I buy all the magazines and think I want to try that but it looks so difficult. I am going to start classes, but how great is it that you have started this site, I am looking forward to all the tips and designs that will be available to a newbie like me.
Embroidery just brings ordinally outfits to the next level. And, there is always something new to learn, so hey it’s a challenge too. It’s just so fun!!!!!
I love machine embroidery because it is just one more way to sew something special. You can make fast fabulous gifts with an embroidery machine. And you can use machine embroidery anywhere to make the special outfit (or accessory) complete. Just not enough time to use all of the ideas out there!
Machine embroidery scares me!!

I don’t have an embroidery machine, but I have seen people who are amazing at free hand embroidery. I have tried it a few times, and ended up ruining my project in it’s near completed state. Hence my timidness when it comes to embroidery. Embroidery adds that extra “oomph” and can make any project look amazingly professional, personal, and absolutely darling. I am looking forward to the tips, tricks, and projects on this site, because I would just LOVE to be able to put these personal touches on my projects. If anyone has any recommendations for a *cheap* embroidery machine, that would be awesome, but due to budget, free hand embroidery tricks are probably more up my ally right now.
I am so looking forward to this site and newsletter, I love ycmt.com, and can’t wait to meet swak.com!!
I have 2 machines that can embroidery, but I’m too scared to try!!!! I would love to learn.
I love the personal touches that can be made on anything. I love that I can make great gifts for a small amount of money and feel like it is really worth more than I spent on it. I love to make matching outfits for my girls and embroidery helps me do that in a unique way.
my bf has a machine and i love to see her creations with it!!
I love making gifts for friends and family with my embroidery machine. Also love to decorate kids clothing to make them so personal and special. Have been machine embroidering for years. As beautiful as hand embellishing is my machines are so much faster.
I LUV to sew, including emboidery, quilting, clothing, etc. It is so relaxing for me. My 2 daughters have just morphed into their mother…they want sewing machines!! I have several and am currently getting two cleaned, oiled and ready for them. I have quite a collection of embroidery designs and am constantly adding to it. I have two GS, so I’m always looking for little boy designs. I think I’m going to like it here.
I don’t have an embroidery machine, but my mom does and I love the things that she can do with it! I hope to one day have the space in my home to own my own machine but until then I will just rely on dear ole’ mom! The possiblilities are endless with 2 princesses to embroider for.
I just purchased an embroidery machine and am slowly learning the ropes. I am learning to really love the added special flair that I can add to all my designs that my daughter just ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s over. There seems to be an endless supply of designs that I find myself wanting to try everything…..so addictive
I love my embroidery machine because I can create many special gifts for people, and I can add a special touch to the outfits I make! The options are endless, and sometimes overwhelming. I think I am now officially a “collector” of emb. designs because I have more than I’ll ever use. Looks like more trouble for me with SWAK!!! I love trouble!
I would LOVE to have an embroidery machine and to learn. That’s not in the cards right now for me, but I love keeping up with the current designs in the meantime!
I love that people ask me ” Where did you get that?” and I tell them I did it. Everyone is always in awe – even for the things that haven’t quite turned out how I would like them to.
I would love to learn this. I am currently saving a machine. I love how you can take a plain item and turn it into something totally unique and beautiful. I so excited to see the designs.
I’d love to try it someday. I really love looking at all the amazing and detailed designs you can make this way.
I am a retired teacher with 8 grandchildren whose favorite characters or theme requests change frequently. I gave up teaching because I became a sleep deprived sewing addict. I am kept informed of zoo trips, school parties, new siblings, and holiday requests because this grandma makes the outfits that turn heads. Machine embroidery is all about being unique!!
I am sooooo excited about this new website !! I am already addicted to the sister sight & can only imagine what the new one will be like. I applique now but there is always room for improvement Ü ( curves & corners) so I am anxiously awaiting the opening of the new site !!
I love how you can personalize boys clothing! It is so hard to find really cute and creative boys clothes without spending an absolute fortune. I like personalizing blankets and quilts and best of all – I adore collecting all the awesome embroidery designs!!
I will be purchasing a machine later this year (after wanting one for years and years) and I am looking forward to adding special touches to everything for my new daughter.
I have an inexpensive embroidery machine but haven’t yet learned to master it. I would love to learn more about it and have the opportunity to get more embroidery patterns.
This should be a great website as are the others that you have started. Thank you.
I absolutely love my embroidery machine. I got it about 4 years ago and haven’t stopped since. I love to find cute designs to use. I also love to digitize as well. I can’t wait to see what you will be offer on the site.
I have always loved the look of embroidered clothing and applique as well as monogramming. I want to learn all those things but the start up cost is a bit prohibitive. I would love to have some type of sewing business I can do from home to stay home with my beautiful girls.
Thanks
Teresa
I have a Singer Futura CE250, and I am amazed at the FUN things I can do with it! Adding a finishing touch to my daughter’s jeans, tops, and ribbons for her bows has been so much fun! I haven’t done anything for my home, yet, but I am sure this will, too, be great fun!
I’m so excited to see the new site. I recently purchased an embroidery machine and am having so much fun learning how to use it. If only I could give up my “day job” I could accomplish so much more!!!
Wow…you guys must be reading my mind.
I am in the search of an Embroidery/sewing machine combo…I really want to laern how to sew and embroider…..My 2 little ones are my drive to learn
I have found that my embroidery machine is SO much easier to use than any other craft or hobby machine I use. It works like a champ at QUICKLY turning anything that is just blah to something that is really special. I have decorated for everyone in our family, old and young. For others and for profit. I find it thousands times easier to find the JUST right embroidery or appliqué for my outfits than to find the perfect printed fabric! IT IS SO FAST!!
I LOVE machine embroidery! Although I have 2 young sons, I still have found tons of things I can do for them! I am still a novice embroiderer and can just barely sew a straight line, so I look forward to learning and sharing on SWAK!
I simply love to Machine Embroider..I have a Brother Innovis 4000D. I have been embroidery for about 2 1/2 years now and I love making personalized gifts. I sell some of them on E-Bay. I love making things for my grandchildren…Next thing I would love to learn is digitizing.
I love the creativity of machine embroidery. I bought my first embroidery/sewing machine in 1988 – a Janome 8000 – an incredible machine at that time. Now, I am really into digitizing my own designs – I love the computer/software side of embroidery as well as the actual stitching out of a design. I have a Babylock Ellegeo and a Babylock Emb Pro 6 needle – love them both! I mostly used Embird software.
Looking forward to this new site – you can never have too many designs (or spools of sthread, or stabilizers, etc.!)
Love your cute model too!
Melissa in SC
I love my Babylock Esante! With 3 girls under the age of 5, I am always sewing/embroidering something for them. I have only had my machine 2 years, and have tons to learn. I have digitizing software, just no idea how to use it!! Can’t wait to see all that you will have to offer.
I got my embroidery machine to make cute things for my kids, but as I have gotten more into it, I realize that it is a great creative outlet, where I can let my imagination be my guide in making anything I want. No matter what design I am searching for, it is out there somewhere. Now, I make things for everyone…not just the kids!
Thanks,
Lisa
I’m so happy you have this new site. I love to machine embroider because it adds that “touch of LOVE” to things that I make.
I have had my machine for several years but have not done that much with it. I need to learn so much more and am looking forward to this site. It sounds like it will be so much fun meeting new friends and doing things I love ….sewing and machine embroidery for my family and friends.
Thank you for the beautiful designs to get started with!
I have a new granddaughter and would LOVE to be able to embellish hand-made or store-bought garments to personalize them for her.
I love machine embroidery because it offers something special. When I sew for my family, I love to include appliques of their names, favorite sports, etc. Machine embroidery is so much more simple. Less Stress!
I’ve been able to make so many gifts and bring so many smiles to people with my embroidery. With time so limited, there is no way I could have done this by hand.
My greatest delight of all, was making 17 lap quilts for the nursing home. They were done in redwork and could be sewn while I was doing laundry! There are so many designs available that even the gentlemen could enjoy them. I loved choosing the “thought provoking designs” like children playing, old fashioned cars, toile scenes and others that would bring back memories. The smiles were a real blessing to me! Plus, knowing that they will be enjoyed daily, wow! What a blessing!
I want an embroidery maching SO BAD!! I have done handwork and embroidery for years off and on, but i would LOVE to be able to monogram or embroider the clothes I make for my daughter or items around the house. I’ve almost got my husband talked into getting me a new machine so that I can also embroider shirts for him to wear to school–he’s a high school teacher/coach! Cross your fingers for me. I am so looking forward to this site!!
I love all the really cute things you can do with embroidery and would love to learn how to do it. I have three daughters and that in itself would keep me busy embroidering not to mention my nieces. Can’t wait for your website!
I would love to try to machine embroider because I LOVE the things you can do with it. Having four daughters, I can only imagine the outfits I could create. Unfortunately, I was born without a crafty bone in my body, but, oh, I would love to try!!
I have only done a few small embroidery items by hand and would love to learn to do it by machine. I love it because you can personalize it anyway you like and choose the appropiate colors for your project. I want to be able to personalize baby gifts, those burp rags you know. They are so adorable. My daughter also wants some personalized t-shirts. I am so excited about this new embroidery site. YEAH!
I have been embroidering for about a year and a half now. I love it! I started out with a 4 x 4 field and have already gone to a 5 x 7 – not happy with only a small field. I look at all clothing and items to see what I can embroidery on it.I wanted to embroidery so I did not have to pay the dept store prices for embroidered clothing. Also, I could incorporate it into gifts ( I so and do crafts also) such as towels, various items for my grandchildren ( made a quilt for one for Christmas), and make things for my business (gift shop), baby items……the list goes on and on. Never enough hours to do it all!Looking forward to the website and love the sister site YCMT.
I love to embroider and design, because it is such a great stress reliever! I love to make clothing for my children and special gifts for family and friends. I also love the fact that the embroidery community is full of wonderful people! I have made some dear close friends!
Hugs!
I love my embroidery machine! It makes it so simple to add special little details to all my custom creations. Now, I just need to get me one of those “magic boxes” to read embroidery cards and designs from the computer. Looking froward to the new site!
I love machine embroidery because it is always fun to create something unique and different from the same old stuff you find in the stores.
Looking forward to the new site!!
I’m relatively new to machine embroidery and love adding great designs to my grandkids clothing to make one of a kind outfits for them! Also this avenue of creativity opens a whole new world of gift giving opportunities and it’s just plain fun! Looking forward to the new site!
If you can hoop it, you can embroider it!! Paper, fabric, just about EVERYTHING!! I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler, but I can load a design, press a button, and in no time I have a beautiful, colorful “drawing”.
I love machine embroidering. I have two machines that embroidery a starter machine and a more advanced machine. I have 3 hoops 4×4, 5×7, and 6×10. This was the best investment I have ever made. I wouldn’t be without out. I have only been doing it for about 4 years and love, love, love it.
I love machine embroidery because you can just sit there and watch the machine do the work for you! I especially like applique designs because they come out looking perfect. I have the Designer SE and the software to go with it, but don’t have enough time right now to devote to really learning to make good use of the software. So it’s nice to have all those choices of premade designs.
I love learning machine embroidery, it adds such a special touch. I am looking forward to making my own lace.
I have been shopping at the YCMT site from the very start…I’m loving YCST, and now I am excitedly awaiting the new arrival of SWAK embroidery! What more could we ask for?! I’m new to machine embroidery, but for the last year, I have become addicted to it, especially machine applique. It’s hard to go back to doing it the traditional way after zipping through it with the embroidery machine! I love embellishing clothes for my kids. I recently made a monogrammed A-line dress for my daughter that would rival the $$ brands. I gave away monogrammed towels for Christmas, and I plan on making cute summer outfits for my three children. I also love to make personalized bags/ totes. My embroidery machine opened up a whole new world for me!
I don’t have a machine yet but hope to have one soon. I just think that embroidery adds that boutique touch to clothing and personalizes it. So excited about your site!!!!
I don’t know how to machine embroider and I really can’t afford a machine. If I could afford one, I would love to learn how. In the meantime, I do know how to hand embroider and am hoping I can use some of these designs for that.
Linda
I absolutely love the look and feel of machine embroidery. I love that you can create something that is one of a kind and truly make something that is all yours. My daughters love it as well and love that no one else we see has anything like it.
Embroidering an outfit seems to add that extra WOW that they sometimes almost always need.
I look forward to the new website.
Jenn
I love being able to produce almost anything I see in stores or any idea that comes to mind right in my own sewing studio. It’s such a great opportunity for home dec and gifts and items for my family and friends.
I like my home to look different than anyone else’s. With machine embroidery I can accomplish this. If I can either start from scratch with fabric or embellish something I’ve purchased and make it uniquely my own, I can accomplish this. I get intense satisfaction from making either home decor, clothing, or personal accessories that I know no one will have an exact duplicate of.
I would love to be able to machine embroidery. I keep thinking how I could make my daughter’s outfits look so much cuter if I could add a little something to them.
I was actually shopping online for an embroidery machine over the weekend. I must say I’m overwhelmed by the choices. Are there any good machines out there for a first timer with a decent sewing area and smaller price? In the first ones I saw I thought 5×7 might be kind of small until I found the ones claiming a large area and it was only 4×4. I’m now thinking 5×7 isn’t so bad.
Well like everything it takes a bit of time to get used to selecting the best fabric and underlay (stabliliser) and hooping correctly. But my daughter doesn’t even notice my mistakes, at 6yo she is just so happy to see what I produce. And thinks it should all be for her – LOL – that’s a child for you. It is fun and it is sooooo addictive. And there are just so many great things out there to do… free standing lace, made in the hoop bags, toys, wine bottle aprons, etc etc
I guess one of the biggies is when you start collecting free designs – make an index of design site and abbreviation for it and use it in the file name of your design. Otherwise it doesn’t take long to lose track…
But if you want to take it up… go for it… find a way to afford your machine and threads…but do you research first…
And to justify your purchase, think of all the presents you can give to those you love, and inflict on those you love less…LOL… surely a money saving process…ROFLOL
Happy hooping…
The possibilities are endless! FSL is my favorite. Sometimes I just stand and watch my machine create amazing things. Not sure what I did with my time before ME. LOL
Happy stitching,

I cannot wait to learn to machine embroidery!! My Mom has one and I can now see where I will be asking to borrow hers FINALLY!!
I love machine embroidery as it allows me to explore my creative side, without the hassle of not being coordinated enough to make things by hand.
I have tried many types of handcrafts without even coming close to the results I saw in my mind. There was just a disconnect between my visions and execution.
Using the machine, allows me to bridge the gap. I still feel it’s my creation because I pick out the design, colors, placement, and object to decorate.
I love it- so much so I started my own home business, along with my husband who fell in love with digitizing.
Embroidery can make the old new again..and the dull sparkle again. Its so much fun to take just a plain t-shirt and add a ruffle to the bottom and a big embroidered butterfly to the shirt…and maybe a butterfly on the butt of a pair of old jeans….you just turned a $3.00 shirt and a $10 pair of old jeans into an awesome boutique style outfit.. its just so rewarding!
Creativity does not ‘pour from my veins’ like some of the woman here, but I feel like I have a little of that creativity with my machine. There is nothing like adding a little personal touch to your gifts, and everything your child owns..LOL
I love machine embroidery… especially applique!!! I love to coordinate the fabrics in the applique to the other fabrics in my designs. Plus my kids love the cute pictures and they are so easy to do. I hope that you will have lots of cute applique!
I love machine applique and I also love to free hand applique as well.
I guess it’s something that’s in my blood. LOL Its very rewarding especially when my little girls asked “mommy can you make me this”. It dosen’t get any better than that!
Michele
It adds a personal and professional touch to clothing! It takes a little practice but is easy to learn.
I love machine embroidery because it makes everything my daughter wears and every gift I give special. I can truly sit at my machine after a long hard day and destress by being creative. And my daughter stands out everywhere we go. THANKS so much for this new site!!!
Robin
I love embroidery because I have 4 small children and I love being able to let them each have something unique and different to wear when we go out. They feel so special when people say to them how cute they look. I can’t wait to get some more designs for them from the new site. Thanks Lezette
It just adds such a personal touch to things..It gives them that uniqueness that you cant find in a store.
I love machine embroidery because I can finish it at my own pace. When my kids were little, I felt like I couldn’t get anything done. With machine embroidery, I can complete the design as I have time. Now, no matter how busy I am, I can slowly work my way through a project one color at a time.
I love that when I put an embroidery design on something, people not just check it out and comment to each other about how cute it is, they actually come ask me about it! It’s a great feeling!
I love machine embroidery! The machine does all the work! There are so many designs/themes to choose from and now we will be able to buy more!
I love embroidery, cause I can take a premade item and decorate for my daughter. Also love to personalize for gifts, and personal items. I have made several items, with most being bibs, shirts, quilts and my newest passion is handbags that I make for friends, same pattern but different embroidery for each person to fit thier personality.
My Mom has done embroidery for years, but mostly hand-done. I watch her sometimes, and realize how many years of practice she’s had, and it would take me WEEKS to finish what she does in a day. I don’t know if machine embroidery is really faster or not, but it seems like it would be. My concern is that I have an antique sewing machine I inherited from my husband’s grandmother, so I’m not sure how much of it I can do with that :/
I enjoy machine embroidery because I can make one of a kind gifts for those I love. Showing them that they are thought of and letter them know that things are personalized just for them, is the greatest gift in the world.
I’m pretty new at machine embroidery. I have always loved hand embroidery but just can’t do it. However, with my machine I can embroider. I can make things for family and friends that will always not only show them that I was thinking about them, but will remind them of me. Having my machine also allows me to make things for people (mainly kids) who just aren’t having an easy time in life right now to let them know that someone thinks they’re special enough to make something just for them. I sure hope that makes sense to someone else. Thanks
This is a little off subject, but I’ve already posted my answer to the question…does that count???
I have been trying to find good sites for fabric. I see these beautiful things everyone is doing on YCMT and other places and the fab. is amazing! Will there be resources for fabrics, threads and other goodies? I started at Walmart, years ago when I first got into embroidery and sewing, then Joanns and Hancock fab. but I am starting to not find what I really want at those places.
I love machine embroidery, because it enables me to make and give wonderful gifts to others at a fraction of the cost it would be to buy already made items. It’s like giving a piece of myself.
I have rheumatoid arthritis. I have been quilting for over 12 years and have my own machine quilting business. I had to give up my hand work due to the RA. Machine embroidery gave me back my hand work look to the things I do and best of all, it is easy on the RA! I have only been embroidering for about 6 months but am able to turn out beautiful things to share with my family and friends very easily!
Hugs, Jan <
I just love making beautiful items and giving them away..lol in my home things kinda just sorta disappear..and I wouldnt have it any other way!!
I love machine embroidery because it is just so darn much fun to personalize gifts, home decor, and clothing, quilts…you name it. I love perusing designs and finding just exactly the right one for a person or item.
I have several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thought it would be fun to decorate some items for their rooms and maybe on some clothes.
I don’t have a embroidery machine but I want to buy one and don’t know where to turn on making that decision. My birthday is in July and that is what I am asking for my birthday so I can’t wait until you starting talking about machines. I have loved these sites since I had someone tell me about I Can Make This and have been on it ever since. When someone tells me they can’t make something I always tell them they can and I show them how and now I tell everyone that likes to sew about I Can Make This. Thanks for all your tips and the new site. Love love love it.
Pretty new to embroidery. Excited about your new site. I signed up for newsletter but did not receive my free designs. Did I do something wrong? I have not done any machine applique with my embroidery machine. I feel a little intimidated. Maybe your site will help me.
Hi Marygene! Welcome to SWAK and I’m so glad you found us! We hope you will find many good resources on SWAK, which will help you in your machine embroidery! I’m not sure why you have not received those designs, but I just emailed you to let you know how to receive those!
I love machine embroidery because it adds the personal touch to gifts. I love to quilt and combining quilting with embroidery makes things even more enjoyable to make and give.
I LOVE machine embroidery. Most of the things I do are for gifts. I love to blankets and Christmas things-ornaments, mantel scarfs, tree skirts, etc. My family loves it! I am excited to find your site. I am always looking for new ideas.
I am fairly new to machine embroidery, but because I have 2 new grandsons I am learning quickly! My latest projects are cloth books. Right now I am finishing up the “colors” book, and plan to do a “shapes”, nursery rhyme” and many others.
The more I do, the more mistakes I learn from!
Can’t wait for the new site. I love to get new designs to inspire me! Just wish I had a little girl to sew for!
I made an alphabet embroidered Sunbonnet Sue quilt for a friend of mines granddaughter who had a little girl. it turn out really beautiful and everybody loved it. It was a gift that they could keep. I love sewing for my grandchildren as well. I love to see my granddaughters eyes light up when she sees something that I have embroidered for her. The look on her face is priceless.
Hi. I have 2 embroidery machines, a Singer 200, and a Bernina 440. I learned everything by trial and error and sites like this on my Singer. Poor little thing has really taken a beating over the past 2 years. Then I bought my Brenina because their is a shop in Columbus, Georgia which is near enough to travel weekly to take classes. I love to sew and have been sewing since I was 13-14 years old. Machine embroidery makes it easy to personalize and dress everything up, where before my embroidery machine I hand appliqued or hand embroidered or painted the designs I wanted. I would be so lost if my embroidery machine’s ran away
I am excited to see you guys get up and running, I have checked out the site “You can make this too” and love it also. I am always looking for sites that feed my curiosity.
Thanks for the invatation….

I just love to add personal touches to all of my husband’s and my clothing. I embroider on everything, even my dog and granddogs receives personalized gifts from me.
I love creating personlized projects that I give as gifts to my children, grandchildren and friends. I can sit for hours creating my designs with 4D software by using designs I have purchased or received free.
I love the Designs but will come up with something. I liking to do Dresses but done Shirts with Sponge Bob Square Pant for my Grandson, and Done Doria for my Grandaughter and the lodest GranDaughter I done the Brats on her. Thank you Ann in Pennsylvania
I have been embroidering for about 7 years now. Every thing from shirts to caps to pillows & any thing in between.
I was lucky enough to work at a sewing machine shop for 4 years & that is where I got my start in embroidering!
Currently I am working on diaper burp cloths & making recieving blankets for a friend who is having twins!
My favorite thing to embroider is denim shirts. they look so sharp with the right design & sayings on them. I also make a lot of sweatshirt cardigans for myself, family & customers.
Embroidering is an important part of my life.
It’s a stress buster & gives such a good feeling of satisfaction when a project is done. I am excited to see what surprises you have in store on your new website.
Congragulations on your new store!
hugs
Rose
Cut work is so beautiful, I would love to learn how but I am so afraid I would ruin the product. I guess that is waht I would like to learn in the embroiery field.
When I got my embroidery machine a little over a year ago, one of the arguments I used for it, was to think about everything I could add to the clothing I was making for my children already. My 2 year old daughter loves to pick out fabric for her “pretty dresses” and I love adding a little something to the pocket or the hem of her dress where she can see the design. She then wears the finished item with pride and hates having to take it off, at least until the next one is finished.
I love doing machine embroidery for all my gandkids(10) and for gifts. My embroidery machine is the best toy I have ever owned (I know I am too old for a toy but it is the BEST!!!).

My favorite gift to give are dish towels. They are quick, easy and afordable. Everyone has a kitchen! Some of the older ladies on my list like redwork since those take them back to the ‘embroidered by hand flour sacks’. For the more modern woman, a nice filled design is what I lean towards. Check the dollar stores for dish towel blanks. You’ll be surprised what you can find there. To add more to your towel, finish them up with a fabric border.
I think my favorite gift was the set of days of the week dish towels that I made for my mother. She absolutely loved them but hung them as decoration and never used them. That was back when I was just starting with the hobby. They hung in her kitchen until she left us four years ago.
Hugs, Hildi
I love embroidery because I can make a one of a kind project as well as makinig it “just right” for the recipient.
I have been doing machine embroidery for over 20 yrs. Back when I started pretty much all you could do was to put a design card in your machine and stitch. The only thing you could change was colors. Now with the software programs the possibilities are practically limitless. I love making personal items for my 8 grandkids. And I beam when I hear people make comments about how cute they are. I am currently attempting to learn digitizing. There is a major learning curve as I am not very computer savy. But I WILL learn to do it and do it well.
I love making tissue box covers for gits. I get to change them for the season. color of rooms and can make them for any room I want. Everyone loves them and usually will request another one for another room and than I have an ides for the next time I need to give them a present.
For me, I’ve enjoyed giving FSL ornaments and bookmarks. They have been admired and adored. Gave several for Christmas presents and now send angels and doves to those requesting prayers and good thoughts.
My son’s teachers especially enjoyed the bookmarks that they can use in their text books!
i like embroidery because if i didnt do it i would be sewing my kids together it is a big stress reliever for ME..thanks debbie in Illinois
I like to do embroidery because I like to give 1 of a kind present especially for a wedding. Money is nice, but 10 years from the day they can’t remember how much or how they spent their money. 10 years from now they can look at my present and say we got this from marilyn.
I love giving personalized gifts and personalising and customizing my own items from clothing and accessories to home decore items
I do not have a machine, yet…. however I love the look of custom work. Nicole
I love that I can make something basic nd simple unique and prsonal w/ just some time and thread! Since I don’t sew yet, the machine embroidery allows me to “make” personal gifts and decor for our home.
my favorite gift to make for presents are FSL angels and Christmas ornaments. Thanks, Fran Halligan
I have had a Viking 1+ for years. I started doing a little embroidery years ago but with teaching full time and 6 kids at home I didn’t get too much done. I retired thinking NOW I can embroider and learn all I can. Instead I landed in a medical turmoil that has lasted for 10 years and 15 surgeries, including 6 high risk back surgeries. Finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m so excited to get going! Hopefully I can get a new Viking this summer but until then I want to embroider all I can. I really need to stockpile thread so I’m looking around for brands of threads that people talk about as being great, and a good price. So far I have embroidered an heirloom dress for a granddaughter. I made it and it had miles of lace and pintucks, etc. I put dainty embroidery all aound the bottom. I make a matching bonnet. I have put embroidery on T-shirts and a denim dress. I also put embroidery on a moleskin dress and jacket. I’m lining up stuff to do as soon as I have a thread supply. I’m so glad to have found this site.
I am relatively new to machine embroidery, but I have made some very unique and cute items for my granddaugther, who, at 2 years old, is always so excited to get these really cute items. Machine embroidery is a wonderful hobby that allows you to expand your creativity and come up with unique options for every facet of your life…theres a lot to learn and a lot of wonderful experienced people who are so kind and share their knowledge so freely!
I love to make embroidered quilt squares, then make a quilt.
2nd, I like to make FSL bowls and doilies and Angels as gifts.
I have hand-embroidered since I was five (now I’m 59), and it’s always been satisfying, but a bit time consuming. I finally got a Viking and oh, I love dressing up everyday items! My intention is to make an alphabet quilt – it will be my first quilt and my toe is still dipping in the pool – but I’ll get there (might be this next winter).
I have been embroidering for several years now and it simply just excites me to see a carefully chosen design turn out just perfect. Projects don’t have that cookie cutter look of RTW and you never have to duplicate something if you don’t choose to. Everything you make can be a “one of a kind”. I embroider for babies mostly and that is my favorite but my granddaughter is growing up and I need to be able to “Wow” her still. ME is a journey of learning what you like and don’t like, who your favorite digitizers are, and art. There is always more to learn, and I am always excited when new embroidery sites openfor the opportunity to learn more and SWAK sounds promising. So bring on the FUN!
Hi ,
My favourite thing to embroider for gifts are FSL doilies & bowls. Everyone loves them and they are so easy to make.
Susan
Love the blog! I’ve always loved machine embroidery and was thrilled when I was able to purchase a Designer I in 2000. I had become disabled and my dear hubby was trying everything he could to help me during this difficult period. I’ve done so many different things over the years, but by far my most favorite gift is baby quilts using machine embroidery for the blocks. It’s such a great combination – and makes such a one of a kind gift. I still consider myself a beginner even after 8 years, because there is always, always something new to learn. The many different embroidery lists have furthered this education. Keep stitching everyone!!

I LOVE to use my Husquvarna Designer 1 purchased 4 years ago. I have done everything from burp cloths to towels to FSL, jackets, shirts, t-shirts, dresses and the like for my VERY BIG family. I am one of 9 children and have numerous neices and nephews along with great neices and nephews and 11 of my own grandchildren. I have also done a fleece blanket for my mother with angel designs on it with all of her childrens names and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She absolutely loved it. She has since passed away and the blanket went with her. There are endless things to do with all of the designs and I can’t wait to learn new and better things. Thanks for everything and looking forward to the new site
I love how embroidery personalizes an item and turns it into one of a kind. Embroidery turns some ordinary into something very special.
I love embroidery. It’s so fun to make things for the Grandkids.
Thanks
I am new at this but I really want to start doing my own embroidery. I have 6 month old little girl and I can think of a million things I’d love to make her. I’m so excited I found this place!
I would love to try machine embroidery because it really adds something. I have had a ballet bag embroidered for my daughter and would love to be able to do that to other bags, and be able to decorate jeans or a t-shirt or a dress with some cute designs. I love the princess crown or a mushroom or a cute little animal….
This the first time since my husband had to have emergency surgery, he had tortion of his small intestine, so this is the first chance I’ve had to come and check out the Swak site. And, WOW! Once again, you women have made me proud to call myself woman!!! I love all the embroidery designs you have and can’t wait to see what is to come from all these very talented ladies! I don’t know how to machine embroider yet. But, I so want to learn!! I hope I’ve not missed this wonderful chance at winning a Janome embroidery machine. If someone has already won, Congrats!! And if the winner hasn’t been chosen yet, then Good Luck to everyone!!
Machine embroidery has always been an interesting thing for me to watch and enjoy. I’ve often wondered if it would be possible for me to create the beautiful and the fun things that come from machine embroidery. Knowing how to hand embroidery might be an asset. Can I do machine embroidery? I will have to try machine embroidery to find the answer to that question.
I have never done machine embroidery, but to me the potentials seem to be almost limitless with professional results. In this day and time with everyone being way too busy, the time factor is a big plus. You could get so much more done by machine rather than by hand.
I really appreciate making a fashion statement that I feel is appropriate for my children to wear. Somethings I see on the market are fine, but I do not want my children to wear them.
Also, I love being able to quickly make gifts. We have done so many “mass Holiday gifts”, Easter, Christmas, Valentines, you name it!
That reminds me, I should think about Kindergarten promotion! We are done before Memorial Day!
I would love to learn about embroidery machines. I’ve seen what they can do, I have 3 girls I sew for, and would love to be able to personalize things for them.
I wanna start machine embroidery for many reasons. I love momograms…always have. Arthritis keeps me from doing them by hand, but I would monogram everything I could get into the machine…lol.
I would make quilt labels and ID labels for every gift I make. Of course, I would also make baby blankets with all of the pertinent baby info:).
Hugs…thanx for a chance to win,
Phyl
I haven’t tried machine embroidery but think it would be fun to be able to add personal touches to my daughter’s clothes. I am looking forward to this site. Thanks
I haven’t tried it, but I want to. I would love to be able to add that finishing touch to something that I have spent time making for a loved one. As many have said, it would be great to personalize something for that particular person that I have bought rather than made. But, until I can talk DH into an embroidery machine, I will just have to wait.
I’ve already posted to this but to be honest in my excitment at the chance to win a Janome embroidery machine, I didn’t finish reading. All I could think of was posting to say that I would love the chance to win…lol!! And of course to say what a great site this is!!
So to answer the first question:
Why do you love machine embroidery? If you haven’t machine embroidered yet, why would you like to learn?
I love machine embroidery because of all the possibilites there are at making what ever your heart desires, and I love the thread, all the colors, and the way it shimmers!! It makes the design so beautiful!!
To answer the second part of the question since I’ve never machine embroidered. I would like to of course learn the basics of machine embriodery, but what I really would love to learn is how to create my own deisgns.
What an accomplishment that would be!!! =O)
I sew and am an author and a buyer on youcanmakethis.com. I love doing applique and would love to be able to use some of these great emnroidery designs, but 1st need to get a machine. Any help in picking out a “starter machine” without spending a bundle? Any tips for features that would be great to look for on the machine if you are just starting out. I would love to get some buying help so that I can get myself a machine!
Great site!
I have never tried an embroidery machine yet. My sister has one and loves it. I want to learn to embroider because I have two daughters who Irish dance and I make their costumes. I would love to personalize their other clothes too.
